My mom had surgery done almost 3 months ago. she is doing well however she needs to take medicine called Hidantal 3 times a day. this past few days she is complaining about numbness on her left hand that usually takes about 5 minutes to go away. she called the doctor and he said that's normal sometimes. did anybody here had this problem after surgery?? thanks please replay s_carrilho@yahoo.com

Your doctor is correct. This is normal. I had surgery 11 months ago and my toes are permanently numb. It took about three months after surgery before I could even wiggle my toes. She's just lucky that it comes and goes.
