A relative of mine had surgery to remove a menigioma that was pressing on her optic nerve. The MD excised most of the tumor and she was doing fine. Things went bad quickly and she died from a blood clot to her heart. Is it routine to give anticoagulants post brain surgery? What precautions are taken?
